Matthew Cuthbert and his stern sister, Marilla, agree to adopt a boy to help with the farm work. Imagine their consternation when the orphanage sends Anne Shirley, a twelve-year-old girl, to Green Gables by mistake. Anne touches Matthew's heart with her vivid imagination and her charitable viewpoint, but it takes time to reach the tender heart beneath Marilla's hard exterior. Young Josie Pye, a lad named Moody MacPherson, Anne's kindred spirit Diana Barry, Anne's future love interest Gilbert Blythe, and other colourful characters of various ages round out this warm and witty classic. Note: This is a non-musical version of L.M. Montgomery's Canadian classic. Stage Manager .................... Cheryl Scherle |
